PROJECT LOG


WEEK 1


Mon, April 4
- Picked up Phantom 2 Vision Plus drone
- Got familiar with the drone and had test flights in Denny Field (it was a success)
- organized our schedule for the week
- talked to IT about computer programs and getting a loaner computer
- talked to our advisor, Mr. Silverman, about other equipment we need to rent/buy and what editing application to use
- Went to apple store to buy new laptop and editing software (Final Cut Pro)
- Went to Micro Center to get card reader and SD's

Hours for Day: 8am-4pm = 8 hours
Tues, April 5
- tested different cameras (1 cannon, 2 nikons) to see which one gave us best quality for photos and videos
- went to a spot on the Chattahoochee River to take some test footage
- met at Starbucks to upload test footage and edit it
- bough more SD cards that were compatible with cannon camera we chose to use

Wed, April 6

Thu, April 7
- Shot at our first location, Panola National Park
- Hiked 6 miles, talked to park rangers
- Uploaded and began editing film

Hours for Day: 8am-7pm = 11 hours
Fri, April 8
- Shot at Chattahoochee river to find solutions to our video quality problem
- Talked to Mr. Silverman about our editing and got a tutorial from him
- Edited all the film we have thus far

Hours for Day: 8am-6pm= 10 hours

Mon, Apr 11
- finalized editing of first location, added music and transitions
- contacted stores about rental cameras
- contacted friends and family about cameras
- picked up camera and test shot

10am-2pm= 4 hours
Tues, Apr 12
- Shot our second location, the Bellwood Quarry
- uploaded footage to my laptop and began editing

9am-4pm= 7 hours
Wed, Apr 13
- Hiked and shot at stone mountain

8am-2pm = 6 hours
Thu, Apr 14
- hiked and shot at Tallulah Falls
- uploaded and began to edit

8am-7pm = 11 hours
Fri, Apr 15
- edited Stone Mountain and Tullulah Gorge State Park footage

8am-5pm = 9 hours

Mon, Apr 18
-edited footage from Tullulah Gorge State Park, almost finished video 2
- planned for long trip to Saint Phillips Island

-5pm-8pm= 3 hours
Tues, Apr 19
- drove 5 hours to Saint Phillips
- got food at Publix with the property caretaker, Boogie
- drove to a dock, got on a boat, and boated to Saint Phillips Island
- Ate lunch, got settled in
- Went to house built in 1700's ruins
- Went to beach and shot
- Edited and finished video #2

- 9am-6pm = 9 hours
Wed, Apr 20
- drove Gator around the Island and shot it
- walked on the coast and shot it
- saved 2 sting rays and a baby shark
- uploaded edited footage taken in Saint Phillips thus far

- 10am-8pm= 10 hours

Thu, Apr 21
- Shot more of St. Phillips
- hung out on the beach
- drove home

- 6am-1pm + 5pm-11pm= 7 + 6 = 13 hours
Fri, Apr 22
- edited footage from st. phillips

- 10am-3pm = 5 hours

- started on our presentation and accumulating our research

-worked on our presentation and continued perfecting videos
